Last March 14, Dustin Andaya of Island Rose was invited to share his views to Philippine Government officials during a seminar on Capability Building for Government Officers. In cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the International Trade Center’s Trade in Services Section, the Association of Training Institutions for Foreign Trade in Asia and the Pacific (ATIFTAP) held the Second Global Business Training and was attended by approximately 45 participants from the Government Sector and Business Support Group. The Global Business Training is a two-day capability building program for service-oriented small and medium Enterprises held last March 13-14, 2008 (Thursday-Friday) at the Philippine Trade Training Center, Gil Puyat corner Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.

The seminar was a a big success and was attended by officers from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPO), Foreign Trade Services Corps (FTSC) , Bureau of Investments (BOI), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), The Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Export Processing Zone (PEZA), PHILEXPORT, and the League of Cities in the Philippines.

In the seminar, Dustin Andaya discussed the concerns of small businesses such as Island Rose concerning government run institutions. He pointed out various government offices he has worked with and the results with its encounters with government run institutions. His viewpoints from the private sector will help the participating Philippine government institutions in improving its services to small and medium enterprises.
