Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) hosted the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) 50th Workshop Meeting of Heads National Productivity Organization’s (NPOs) last October 20th to 22nd at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel in Mandaluyong City.
The workshop was attended by the Heads of National Productivity Organizations from APO countries. The participants includes from Japan, Korea, Republic of China (Taiwan), India, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Iram, Pakistan, Camobodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Fiji, Vietnamn, Singapore, Thailand, Nepal, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. Projects for 2010 were finalized. Program plans for 2011 and 2012 to be implemented by member countries were discussed as well.
As part of the meeting, DAP chose Island Rose to conduct a company visit to its farm. With assistance of DAP, Island Rose’ Dustin Andaya and Arnold Andaya shared the company’s insights and experiences on productivity and quality programs. They tour 30 participants from different APO countries to the rose farm’s modern glass greenhouses and computerized facilities.

The Development Academy of the Philippines is a government organization established in June 1973. The organization aims to assist the country’s development as change catalyst and as capacity builder. For the past three decades, DAP has focused on projects for national development.
