on Feb 9th, 2010Wedding Checklist: Most Important Wedding Accessories
Wedding accessories should blend with the bridal gown and not outshine it. It is combination style, elegance and motif mixed with a bit of the mystic. The is the age old saying:
Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.
“Old” refers to her connection to the past. That is her family, her friends, her education – all that she is now. Looking towards a good future she must bring an item, which is “new”. The last item is “borrowed” which should be from a person who has he himself or herself continuous to enjoy marital bliss. The original color that symbolized purity was actually “blue” and not white, which defers to the Marian tradition. Lastly the sixpence should bring luck for financial stability, as they say for “richer or for poorer.”
All these items or accessories and poised to give the bride luck, but there are more ceremonies that have first to be fulfilled on the day of the wedding and the reception. There are many other items that are needed to complete the ensemble.
